How to choose an upholstery fabric that lasts
The single most useful number is the Martindale rub count — how many cycles a fabric survives in abrasion testing. Anything above 20,000 rubs is fine for a guest room chair; a main family sofa should be 30,000 or more; a TV sofa used by children and pets should be 40,000-plus in a tight weave.
The second thing to check is weave tightness. Loose boucé and open linens catch claws and pull. If you have cats, choose a flat, dense weave or a leatherette. Third: colour depth. Mumbai dust shows badly on very dark and very pale solids — mid-tone textures and subtle patterns stay looking clean far longer between cleans.

What sofa upholstery costs in Mumbai
Re-upholstery is priced as fabric plus labour plus any repair. A standard 3-seater takes roughly 12–16 metres of 54-inch fabric; a 3+2 set is usually 20–28 metres depending on the arm style and whether cushions are reversible.
Foam is the part people forget. If the seat has flattened, new fabric over old foam will look wrong within weeks. We quote foam separately so you can decide honestly.
